More Birthday Fun
Ben's company summer party was tonight at Hogle zoo. We had dinner at the zoo and then we had the zoo to ourselves for several hours. It was a little hot, but otherwise it was great. There weren't many people there so Maren could wander around and look and point at everything. She loved the giraffe's which is funny because I keep buying her giraffe toys, hmmm. The girls had their faces painted and they were able to ride the train and the carousel. Maren loved the carousel. She held on tight and would giggle every time her elephant went up and down. All three girls had a ball, it was a great way to end Maren's birthday. And of course, no family outing is complete without a trip to Denny's right? So, we found a Denny's on the way home so that the kids would be nice and full and ready for bed. Maren already loves yellow death AKA mac and cheese. On the way home she reached melt down status. She did great all day, but I am really grateful that all three girls are in bed and asleep. That's where I'm heading. Good night!
1 year already?
I can't believe it has already been a year since Maren was born. I am so grateful to have Maren in our home, she is so sweet and mellow. She is quite the crack up lately. She has a cute little personality and she really completes our little family. Our little birthday girl is down for a nap right now, she's already had a busy day. We went to the pioneer parade (see previous post) and we opened gifts. After a nap and lunch we will be heading to the zoo for Ben's company party. What a way to celebrate a birthday. Happy Birthday Maren!
Pioneer Parade
This morning was the annual stake primary pioneer parade. I missed it last year because I was in labor, so it was nice to go this year. Addy and Sydnee looked so cute in their new pioneer skirts and bonnets that Grandma Williams made. Each ward had a banner and the kids walked with the ward. They had a great time, it was nice because it was really short. The kids loved dressing up and getting Otter pops afterward. Happy Pioneer Day!
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Van Week 8
Week 7 I was at camp, so it was nice to hit the road again. This week we went to Kennecott copper mine with about half of the state of Utah. Admission was free this week, so it was a little crowded. I've lived here all my life and I have never been to Kennecott. It was quite impressive. It's amazing to see how big the mine is and to watch the huge trucks keep filling up. They get 150,000 tons of copper ore a day, wow! The girls enjoyed watching the trucks fill up with ore and looking over the huge open pit. Afterward, we had lunch at Red Robin, yum! and stopped at the hobby lobby. It was a fun adventure, and I would definitely recommend a trip to the mine to anyone.
Girls Camp 2010
I've been home from girls camp for a week now, and I think I have finally recovered. We spent the week at Mutual Dell and spent some time enjoying nature. It was a long, hard week, but the girls enjoyed themselves and that's all that counts, right? A huge thanks to my mom, Camille and Ben for taking such good care of my kids. It was nice to be able to miss my girls, but not worry about them. They were in great hands.
