I dressed Maren in this lovely little outfit the other day and I had a fun memory pop into my head. When my parents were on their mission, my sister and I took Addy and Sydnee and drove to California to visit. We had a great time and even went to the beach. Addy wasn't too fond of the water, but Sydnee loved it. She was only about 14 months old and we couldn't keep her out of the water, so much so, that it was scary. She would just run into the waves. The child had no fear. She wasn't as fond of the ocean on our second trip one year later. Every time I dress Maren in the little orange outfit, I smile and remember the beach.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Van Week 5

Today we set off on another adventure up Provo canyon. We went to Big Spring Hollow park up the south fork of Provo canyon. I felt kind of dumb because I didn't even know there was a south fork until a few weeks ago. Big Spring Hollow park is beautiful, it's almost to the top of the mountain. There is a spring/creek that runs through the park and the views of the mountains are amazing. Addy and Sydnee enjoyed playing in the water and Maren enjoyed eating sticks and anything else she could get her hands on. It was such a nice, sunny day for a picnic. There was only one other person at the park and they were quite far away, it was great to have the park to ourselves. We had a nice picnic lunch, the only negative part were the bugs that munched on us for their lunch. The flies were horrible. I remembered my camera, but my batteries were dead, aarrgghh! It was the perfect place for fun pictures, oh well, next time. Thanks again Camille for a wonderful day!
