Sydnee turns 6

Sydnee turned 6 on April 7th. She was excited to go to school on her birthday. She wore a new purple dress we gave her the night before. She was able to share treats with her class and she got a crown and a giant birthday card from her teacher. Next up it was lunch and shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Williams. She was overjoyed with her new sandals, flip-flops and tights. When Ben got home she tore into her presents. We gave her a pink scooter, a jewelry box, some clothes and books. Sydnee wanted a flower cake, so I did the best I could and came up with a cute little cake. We ate birthday cake and watched Wipeout. Happy birthday to my little mouse. I love this little girl, she is so mellow and sweet. She still talks in a little squeaky high pitched voice which drives me nuts, but that's just my Sydnee. I am so thrilled to have her in our family.

10 Years

Ben and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary on the 5th of April. We had a great day. We celebrated as a family and talked about how it is the anniversary of our family being created. We celebrated with food, of course. We had grilled steak, baked sweet potatoes, sauteed zucchini and mushrooms and for dessert, gluten-free eclair cake. Ben and I both can't believe it has been 10 years that we have been married, but in other ways it seems like we have been together forever (in a good way). We both agree that our wedding day was great and some of our other favorite moments while being married are the births of our three children. Ben and I have been through a lot in the past ten years. We have literally had experiences that have made us feel as though we were walking through hell. The important thing though is that we have survived. We are stronger for the experiences we have been through. I'm glad I have Ben by my side as my best friend for eternity.

April Fools

For April fools day we treated ourselves to hamburgers at our favorite burger joint, JCW's. Sydnee loved trying to play tricks on us. Most of them consisted of bugs or spiders in our hair and on our face. The kids asked for ice cream and I told them they could have any kind of ice cream they wanted. Their faces lit up and then I said "April fools!" They didn't like that joke. Ben being the softie that he is bought all of us ice cream. I'll be an April fool any day.
