The "after"

Saturday was a beautiful day! Addy was baptized a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a hard time waiting all day. The time finally came and we drove to the stake center. I helped her get dressed and we waited for the program to start. She was baptized with 3 other kids from our ward, needless to say we had a huge group at the church. There was no microphone, so it was really hard to hear any of the talks, but the spirit was there. Addy was the first to be baptized. She did great. Addy had asked me about a white dress a few weeks earlier and I told her not to worry about it. She wore one of her regular church dresses there, but I surprised her when she came out of the water with a new white dress. I actually surprised her! I bought her white dress before Christmas and kept it at my mom's house. I gave Addy all new clothes to put on afterward, underwear, slip, shoes, tights and dress. I explained how being baptized is like becoming new again, hence all of the new clothes. I'm not sure it sunk in, but hopefully it will later. Addy was thrilled to wear her new dress and come out to show everyone. We finished the program and she was confirmed. It was a very nice baptism meeting. Afterward, we had a barbecue at my parents with all of the family. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
